The expert views of those who will construct and operate an asset should inform its design to optimise maintenance regimes and reduce the risk of failure. Creating immersive visualisations from 3D BIM models enables personnel at all levels to interact with and explore virtual spaces and structures, helping to refine and validate designs.
Tideway’s delivery partners fully engaged with the visualisations we built – based on live model data – and were able to provide invaluable input at the right points in the design process. This resulted in better design and engineering decisions being made in line with the project’s commercial and sustainability goals. Once the super sewer is in operation, immersive visualisations will be used to identify best practice for maintenance tasks.
Maintenance of the 25km Thames Tideway Tunnel will be quicker, safer and more cost-effective, ensuring long-term operational reliability and a high quality of service at minimum cost.
